Wildlife Education

Wildlife education is essential in addressing the decline in species worldwide. Raising awareness through books, articles, films, and images helps add value to the species that share our lives. Wildlife conservation begins in our backyards with common species. If we cannot preserve the habitat of common local species, rare and endangered ones don’t have a hope of surviving.

Building knowledge on habitat and environmental preservation is the key to avoiding species extinction. In addition, helping communities to build wildlife corridors allows wild animals to combat the relentless spread of urban growth.

Understanding wildlife’s role in our ecosystem is vital for preserving a healthy planet, not only individual species. For example, vultures, reviled in many cultures, are essential for preventing the spread of disease. Likewise, our crops and gardens need a healthy working ecosystem that relies on insects for pollination. In addition, insects are the ultimate recyclers, creating nutrients in our soils.

Frogs and other amphibians are also vital participants in a healthy ecosystem. They predate on insects and their larvae, keeping insect numbers in check and providing food for other animals. In addition, the decline of frog populations is an excellent indicator of water quality and other environmental concerns. The reality is that everything is interconnected, and the removal of any species impacts another.
